Each insurance providers has specific requirements for starting ABA therapy. Typically, payors require a psychological evaluation provided by a medical professional that includes an autism diagnosis. Some payors require a prescription for ABA therapy as well. Psychological evaluations are valid with insurance providers every 2 years, so you must ensure your child has a valid evaluation to qualify for insurance benefits. We recommend scheduling these assessments well in advance to secure an appointment.
